The importance of baptism!
St. Mark 1:9 And it came to pass in those days, that Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee, and was baptized of John IN Jordan.
St. Matthew 3:5-6
Then went out to him Jerusalem, and all Judaea, and all the region round about Jordan, And were baptized of him IN Jordan, confessing their sins.
1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
St. Matthew 3:13-17
Then cometh Jesus from Galilee to Jordan unto John, to be baptized of him. But John forbad him, saying, I have need to be baptized of thee, and comest thou to me? And Jesus answering said unto him, Suffer it to be so now: for thus it becometh us to fulfil all righteousness. Then he suffered him. St. John 3:5-6
Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
1 John 3:7-10
Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous. He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. 1 John 2:29 If ye know that he is righteous, ye know that every one that doeth righteousness is born of him.
