The first night of Chanukah in 2022 will be Sunday evening December 18.
Chanukah (Hanukkah) 2022 starts at nightfall on December 18, 2022 and ends with nightfall on December 26, 2022, beginning on the Hebrew calendar date of 25 Kislev, and lasting for eight days.
Did you know? The story of Hanukkah does not appear in the Torah because the events that inspired the holiday occurred after it was written. It is, however, mentioned in the New Testament, in which Jesus attends a “Feast of Dedication.” History
The Feast of Dedication is also mentioned in John 10:22, where the writer mentions Jesus being at the Jerusalem Temple during “the Feast of Dedication” and further notes “and it was winter”. The Greek term used in John is “the renewals” (Greek τὰ ἐγκαίνια, ta enkainia). Source

“History Happy Hour: The History and Mystery of Chanukah
If only the spelling of Chanukah (or Hanukkah?) were the most complicated part of the holiday. It is a Jewish holiday whose story does not appear in the Jewish Bible, and whose customs have evolved as a “Winter holiday,” becoming distanced from its original meaning.”
