Lord. What makes you happy?

Sometimes we think we need to do all these things to please God.

That we have to accomplish this or that. That we have to have this kind of prize or this kind of success. That we have to achieve certain goals so God will be happy. So he will be proud of us. Some of us even worry if we don’t please God he will punish us.

We think thoughts that we don’t want to bring shame to God. And some of us; when we sin, are convicted very strong. So we might want to think shame and guilt. And feel really bad. For letting God down. For not living up to our calling.

GOD KNOWS WHAT IT IS LIKE TO BE HUMAN.

He understands what we go through. Every single up and down. Every emotion, thought, feeling, and belief. He experienced too.

I believe:

Yes some guilt can spark us to honest repentance, a thirst to do better, the willingness to serve God, and direct us down a certain path. But God doesn’t want it to consume us. To dwell over and over. To keep our mind captive.

Learn. Move forward. His mercy is new each day. Embrace that he loves you.

Here are some simple answers to what makes the Lord Happy:

-Jesus said love others as I have loved you, this is how they will know you are my disciples.

-Jesus said those who love much, much is forgiven. Those who love little, little is forgiven.

-Jesus said pray for our enemies, and bless those who curse us.

-Jesus told us how we should pray.

-Jesus said loan without interest

-Jesus said there will come a time where we worship in Spirit and Truth.

-Jesus says he is the Bread of Life. That whoever comes to him will not hunger, and whoever believes in him will never thirst.
